The Embassy of Japan in Norway is seeking a political clerk
Main Duties:
- Information gathering, analysis, translation and reporting of Norwegian foreign and domestic policy areas;
- Information gathering, analysis, translation and reporting of Norwegian defense policy areas;
- Coordination and networking with Embassy partners;
- Other duties as designated by the Embassy.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above, or equivalent education degree;
- Fluent in Norwegian and English (both speaking and writing);
- Analytical writing and communication skills;
- Good command of computer skills such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint and use of applications of webmeetings;
- Flexibility and ingenuity.
Conditions:
- This is a temporary replacement position for another clerk who is on parental leave.
- Contract period begins on 1 November 2021 and concluding on 3 June 2022 (working hours: 7 hours per day, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday);
- Overtime will be required on average 4-5 times a month; overtime allowance to be calculated at an hourly rate stipulated by the Embassy;
- Salary will depend upon the education and experience of the successful candidate but is expected to be approximately NOK34,500 per month.

Interview and examination:
The Embassy will conduct primary screening of applicants by means of submitted documents. Successful candidates will be contacted for interviews. A performance test is also conducted for about an hour during the interview.
