Nor-Shipping, one of the world’s most recognized maritime and ocean industries meeting was held 2 – 5 June.
Ambassador Sugiyama attended Opening ceremony of Nor-Shipping at Oslo City Hall on 2 June and opening ceremony of Japan Pavilion at the exhibition center on 3 June.
Ambassador Sugiyama also co- hosted a Japan day reception together with the President of the Japan Ship Exporters’ Association Mr. Kanehana and Mrs. Kanehana in the Oslo center on 4 June. At his speech, Ambassador Sugiyama stated that he hopes for even closer collaboration between Japan and Norway to meet emerging challenges in the maritime sector, including green shipping. Mr. Even Tronstad Sagebakken, State Secretary to the Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy also joined the Reception and expressed his hope for cooperation between Norway and Japan including green transition, digilatilzation, and workforce securement in the sector.
On 4 June, Maritime CCS Value Chain Seminar was held as a commemorative event for the 120th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Norway.
