Ambassador Sugiyama attended the JSM handover ceremony

  1. On March 6, Ambassador Sugiyama attended the handover ceremony for first delivery of the joint strike missiles (JSM), Norwegian-made stand-off missiles.
  2. At the ceremony, Ambassador Sugiyama emphasized that Japan and Norway have been deepening their defense dialogue and cooperation based on the shared view that the security of the Euro-Atlantic and the Indo-Pacific is inseparable. He further stated that Japan’s introduction of the JSM contributes to strengthening Japan’s deterrence and response capabilities and marks an important milestone in our biliteral defense cooperation. 
  3. Japan looks forward to the continued development of Japan-Norway defense cooperation.
