Ambassador Sugiyama participated at Arendal Week

On 11 August, Ambassador Sugiyama participated in the "Ambassador's Round Table" as a panelist, together with Defense Minister Sandvik and fellow Ambassadors during Arendal Week. The theme was "War and Economy". Ambassador Sugiyama explained Japan’s recent defense policy under an increasingly severe security environment surrounding Japan. Ambassador Sugiyama also touched upon Japan’s "Responsible and Proactive Public Finance Policy" which aims at strengthening Japanese economy by increasing public-private investment in 17 strategic important fields, while paying careful attention to fiscal sustainability.
